Seaoptic AS handles personal data in its normal operation. This document outlines how we handle personal information.
Seaoptic shall keep the data collection to a minimum. In some cases it may be necessary to share personal information like name and phone number to a third party such as a transportation forwarder.
Anyone can claim their personal data corrected or deleted. This operation is resource intensive and can not happen immediately. Please reach out by email to claim your personal data deleted. We will confirm the request and notify when the task is complete. We encourage everyone to use their personal data discreetly and sensibly.
E-mail communication
E-mails are stored for archiving purposes. This is to ensure traceability in orders, communication and on a product level. The information is important in regards to service and warranty throughout the product lifetime.
Stored data may be names, roles, phone numbers and email address. In some cases, signatures include gender pronoun. However, this information is often available on the senders website. The information is not sensitive and it will not be analyzed or published.
The information is of great importance to Seaoptic AS. Storing information may have negative consequences for the individual person. In the event of a data breach, personal information may be leaked. However, the kind of information Seaoptic stores is regarded not be sensitive and, in most cases, already publicly available. We consider the negative consequences to be minimal.
We encourage employees and clients to avoid using company e-mail for sensitive and personal data

Based on the above statement, Seaoptic considers it not to be necessary to ask for consent to store e-mails. Seaoptic´s email signature shall include information about the storage of such information.
Employees
The company will store employee information such as name, phone number, address and social security number. This is necessary to perform services required by law such as mandatory occupational pension and tax deductions. Each employee consents to this in their work contract.
